Furniture.

It's a funny old thing.

We sit on chairs and eat at tables every day but do we often notice their design or their look?

The writers of this blog think alot about the designs of all sorts of things (don't get us started on carpark design... you'll never get away!).

Over the last couple of days we've been scratching our heads about furniture. We get excited about fun furniture. We want to get the students across Birmingham excited about furniture too. It's not an easy task. For too long tables and chairs have always looked a certain way.

We want you to tell us about awesome tables, brilliant chairs, wonderful walls, amazing doors: just fantastic design we can use to inspire choices in schools across Birmingham.

Hi,

Coming soon here will be pictures, ideas and discussion about designs, furniture etc that could be used in schools in Birmingham.

We're very excited about this project and we hope that you'll want to join in too.

Send us emails with photos you think we should feature, comment on the pictures we put up, tell us what you like and what you don't like.

We're thinking about having themed fortnights- one on toilets, one on primary schools, one on dining spaces, one on outdoor space, one on circulation spaces, furniture, signs and entry spaces.

So get your cameras out, get snapping with some photos and submit them to us and we'll showcase the best that we get.
